Continuous Servo Controller
[CSVC-PKG-01]

Continuous Servo Controller
The Continuous Servo Controller allows you to control the speed of a servo that has been modified to spin continuously. For information on how to modify a servo, google "Modify a Servo for Continuous Rotation".

Once a servo is modified, it will spin left or right almost as fast as it can. When the transmitter stick is centered, it should stop spinning. It is possible to make the servo spin slower, but the usable range of the transmitter stick movement is very small. It may be difficult and sometimes frustrating to make the servo spin at the desired speed.

This Continuous Servo Controller allows you to control the speed that the servo spins at. It also makes it easier to stop the servo when the transmitter stick is centered. The farther the transmitter stick is moved, the faster the servo will spin. It does this by compressing the wide range of the input signal from the receiver into the tiny output range that can actually control the servo's speed.

The POT on the side of the Continuous Servo Controller allows you to adjust the stopping position of the servo. When the servo is modified, the large POT inside the servo should be centered before the servo is assembled again. If that POT isn't perfectly centered, the servo may spin slowly when the transmitter stick is centered. If that happens, simply adjust the POT on the side of the Continuous Servo Controller, and the servo will stop.

Uses
  • Accurate control of large camera systems using pinion gears mounted to the servos that spin larger gears that move the cameras.
  • Movement of robots that have wheels fixed to the servo.
  • Gear or pulley systems that move larger assemblies such as antenna tracking devices or toy tractors.
